( Will Smith )
Will Smith is said to still be resentful of Chris Rock, almost three years after the legendary Oscars slap.
The King Richard actor “still hates” the comedian and has been taking pleasure in the recent controversies surrounding Rock, according to a source that In Touch reported.
Chris Rock made waves in December 2024 when he left the stage during a holiday party that billionaire Anthony Pratt was hosting.
Cindy Adams, a columnist for The New York Post, claims that Rock yelled out of the crowd after noticing something that irritated him.
In addition to making a contentious remark about Mexicans, the comic reportedly yelled that the event was not intended to be videotaped before departing, saying, “Our new push will be outer space.” All Mexicans will be placed on the rockets.
Smith has “been indulging in every second of [Rock’s] misery while twisting the knife to no end,” according to the In Touch insider. According to the source, Smith “will never forgive Chris for ruining his life,” even though he has recovered professionally.
The two became estranged after Rock made fun of Jada Pinkett Smith’s shorn head at the 2022 Oscars, likening her to G.I. Jane.
Smith, who was clearly unhappy, slapped Rock as he entered the stage and said, “Don’t f***ing say my wife’s name.”
Despite winning Best Actor that evening, Smith resigned from the Academy and was banned from the Oscars for ten years as a result of the incident.
Smith publicly apologized multiple times, calling his actions “unacceptable” and stating that a joke about Jada’s alopecia had caused him to react emotionally.
Rock has largely refrained from engaging, reportedly rejecting Smith’s apology video and referring to it as a “hostage video.”
The In Touch source added that Smith views Rock’s recent controversies as “karma” for refusing to reconcile. Both parties have yet to address these new claims publicly.
